Job Summary
We are looking for a curious, self-driven Data Engineer who thrives in ambiguity, understands data deeply, and is passionate about working directly with customers to enable platform implementation. This is not a typical backend data engineering role – it requires someone who can navigate through complex source systems like Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Zendesk, even if they haven’t worked with these systems hands-on before.
Key Responsibilities
- You’ll be responsible for understanding our platform (TheLoops), engaging with customers to gather integration requirements, and configuring data pipelines and transformations as per the use case
- Join customer implementation calls to understand business workflows and platform customizations
- Learn and adapt quickly to source systems (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, etc.) and their data structures
- Configure integrations and manipulate data as per client-specific needs using XML, JSON, APIs, and scripting
- Collaborate with the Customer Success and Product teams to translate requirements into technical implementation steps
- Build data mappings, transformations, and workflow configurations within TheLoops platform
- Own end-to-end implementation from discovery to configuration
- Document integration flows and maintain configuration details
Required Skills
- 4 years of experience in data engineering, implementation engineering, or integration consulting
- Strong understanding of data formats (JSON, XML), data modeling, and data flow orchestration
- Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines
- Ability to read and reverse-engineer system configurations and workflows
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of curiosity
- Strong communication skills and confidence to join customer calls independently
- Experience with Python, SQL, or scripting languages for data manipulation
- Exposure to tools like Postman, Zapier, Workato, or similar iPaaS platforms is a plus
- Understanding of enterprise SaaS systems such as Salesforce, Zendesk, or ServiceNow is an advantage (deep experience not required).
- Ensure secure handling of client and business data in line with ISO 27001 requirements.
- Nice to have: Prior experience observability/AI/analytics platforms, Familiarity with customer support workflows or enterprise service management, Willingness to work late hours to support US-based clients (up to 1 AM IST)
- Soft skills: High ownership mindset, Fast learner with a growth attitude, Strong documentation and organizational skills, Curiosity to ask “why” and dig deeper
